Life changing upgrade
Just upgraded to the Alienware monitor and wow genuinely a life changing upgrade for me. The clarity, colour depth, and smooth performance have completely transformed my workflow and gaming experience. Whether I’m producing music, editing visuals, or just binge-watching, everything looks sharper, richer, and more immersive. Big step up from my old display totally worth it.

Alienware AW3425DWM
This is my first curved, ultra wide monitor, and for that my experience is already WoW! I was given the Alienware because the Samsung version I was aiming for wasn't available, and its already a much better deal. With the custom gaming desk I built, Alienware just adds to the final touches. Thank you wootware

Nice!
There is not much to say about 3440x1440 other than if you have not experienced it, then you are missing out. VA panels are notorious for backlight bleed ,poor motion handling and black smearing, that said when I first turned on the panel I had about 5 or 6 very subtle spots all over that was bleeding light through in dark scenes in normal or bright scenes it was not noticeable at all. Since then after a few days of usage causing the monitor to heat up expand a bit then cool down and contract a bit the backlight bleed is almost gone except for one smallish part in the bottom left that is still improving and I assume it will also go away in time. I guess it has to do with the outside bezel pinching the screen to close to the light source in certain parts and with a few heat cycles it slips into its correct position (just a guess). As for motion handling it will depend on what monitor you are used to, I came from a 2017 144hz TN panel which for its time had great motion handling but sacrificed colors and contrast for it, this VA panel's motion clarity is the same at max overdrive setting than my older TN panel at its middle overdrive setting but I could almost never use that panel at its max overdrive as the inverse ghosting was horrendous. Another interesting thing I noticed was that no matter the refresh rate on this panel the response time remained pretty much the same it wasn't more blurry at 60hz than 180hz plus I absolutely love that the variable refresh rate goes all the way down to 48hz combining that with the consistent motion handling and you have a great free sync experience. There is very faint black smearing but I could only notice it during the UFO test when taking a picture not while looking at it nor have I noticed it at all even during fast paced gaming. I do realise this review sounds negative but it is not I am just being honest, that said for a VA panel this monitor is incredible the color accuracy out of the box, deep blacks, great motion for a VA panel, no black smearing unless you look for it and light bleed that seems to get better with time is why I gave it 5 stars. I don't think VA panels are going to get any better than this but I hope I am wrong since I will not buy an OLED unless burn in is literally not possible or IPS panels somehow improve on their black which is more dark grey than black really. The only downside I have for this monitor is I really hoped for even just slightly better response time which means the motion clarity is the same as what I am used to on my TN. I you buy this and are realistic about what you are getting and don't go looking for imperfections you will really enjoy this panel its colors and blacks are incredible just keep in mind I am used to a TN lol

Great quality for the price
This monitor definitely exceeded my expectations. The colours are vibrant, backlight is more than bright enough, and image is very crisp. I have been using a 24" Dell monitor for ages, so this was obviously a massive upgrade. Compared to the other competing 34" monitors I've checked out over the last few years, this one is by far the best option for the money currently.

Best VA panel I ever used
Before this I used a Dell S3220DGF monitor, but my biggest issue with it was backlight bleed and the HDR colour were a bit wacked, especially dark colour in HDR. This monitor on the otherhand is very very nice. I am not noticing any backlight bleed and the wide colour gamut makes everything look vibrant. Jumping from 165Hz to 180hz is not really noticable, but won't complain. Overall very happy with this monitor.
